Respect and consideration, caring and sharing,
Communication and understanding, good-faith and good-will
The more meaningful the friendship.
By the right choice and application of thought...
a friendship flourishes.
There is... intimacy and warmth, pleasure and joy.
The "relating" is mutually nourishing and life-enhancing.
By the wrong choice and application of thought...
a friendship withers.
There is... pain and coldness, heartache and disillusionment.
The "relating" is toxic and life-defeating.
By the thoughts we choose to think and act upon
Will determine the quality of the friendship.
There is the need for ongoing awareness and vigilance...
To challenge, confront, and resolve anything...
That would poison it.
In any given moment...
A friendship is either rising, staying, or falling.
And those, I've come to learn...
Who embrace both endings and new beginnings - transcend
